The Bible is a legal document or a constitution. It is a system of fundamental principles, ordnances, statues, and rules in which God governs His kingdom and His affairs concerning mankind.
God is not only a Heavenly Father, but also the Judge of all mankind. God deals with mankind as a father would towards his child, and as a judge would towards an heir. The Heavenly Father provided a “will” for mankind through Jesus Christ. Then, the Testator died so that the testament would be legally activated.
This is the end of an age, the Court of Heaven is now in session and God has His judicial garment on; judging mankind according to what is written in the book. The Judge of all mankind must perform His duties according to the protocol of the legal “will”; not according to emotions or whimsical notions. Therefore, we must approach God (in prayer) not as our Heavenly Father only, but as our Judge in legal matters; matters concerning both our natural affairs and our spiritual affairs.
Before we can stand before God in His court, there are many things that must be in order, similar to the natural court procedures:
* we must come in righteousness;
* we must prove our identity, for God said, “He calleth His own sheep by name”;
* we must have a legal cause for our case;
* we must have a covenant with Him.
God is not obligated to fulfill His portion of the contract if we are in violation of His will; for God said, “… because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not”.
God is the great Judge and He will not break His laws or statutes for anyone.
